Although not born into a musical family, Jakub Sladek found a talent for music during childhood studies of scenic dance, in his home of Prague, Czech Republic. At 15, he has participated in many national and international piano competitions. Among his awards are IPC Virtuosi per Musica di Pianoforte Grand Prize (2004 & 2008), Young Piano of Prague Conservatory, Grand Prize (2009), and Ettlingen Piano Competition, Laureate of the competition (2010). Also awarded prizes for his piano compositions, Jakub enjoys mathematics, explores caves, and collects minerals. For sports, Jakub participates in swimming and table tennis. He is a big fan of Charlie Chaplin films.
