About Dongyuan:

Dongyuan Sun, now 13, has been receiving awards for her performances in a variety of competitions and festivals since she was six years old.  Dongyuan won first prize in the children’s group at the 55th Grotian-Steinway & Sons International Youth Piano Competition in Germany at age seven.  A year later she won the Best Performance Prize at Germany’s Wiesbaden International Youth Piano Competition.  Dongyuan was invited to attend the 3rd Nice International Youth Competition in 2010 and won first prize for her performance in the young group.  At age eleven, Dongyuan was invited to participate in a concert in Beijing with America’s famous Peter Buffett, cellist, Michael Scott and legendary Tibetan singer, Tashi.  More recently, Dongyuan has won awards in Italy’s Imola Summer Piano Academy and Festival (2013), been on television and performed with both the China Philharmonic Orchestra and Torun Symphony Orchestra in Poland.  After two public concerts at the Raiffeisen Forum Lanserhaus in Italy a year ago, this young pianist was honored with the highest award – The Audience Award.
