About Nina:

Born in the United States, Nina Yifang Hu received her early music education in China, where she started piano at the age of five, studying with Hui Zou and Jay Sun. In 2011, at the age of 11, Nina was admitted to the Curtis Institute of Music, where she has been studying with Eleanor Sokoloff.
Nina distinguished herself early on in a number of piano competitions. Among her accomplishments are First Prize in 2006 at the First Guangzhou Piano Open Competition, Second Prize at the 2007 Hong Kong Asia Open Piano Competition, First Prize at 2008 Guangdong Province SAUTER Piano Competition, First Prize in 2009 the 3rd Cadenza Piano Competition National Finals in China and first prizes at the 2010 Youth Piano Competition Finals in China, to name a few.
Nina started performing regularly in China before she was 10, and now continues to play concerts at the Curtis Institute of Music. When she is not practicing, Nina loves to read, watch news, swim and ice skate.
