About Hanul:
Hanul started playing piano at the age of six. After studying at Sunflower Music Gifted Academy, Hanul was accepted to Sunhwa Arts Middle School. While at the school, Hanul was awarded top piano student in years 2014-17. Hanul has performed with great distinction in many youth piano competitions in South Korea, and in 2018 he started to compete internationally.

Hanul successfully passed the prestigious Kumho Prodigy Concert Audition, South Korea’s highest achievement for young musicians. As a result, fourteen-year-old Hanul performed to a near sold out audience at Seoul’s Kumho Art Hall. In 2016 Hanul was invited by Shin Soo Jung to attend a special summer training camp for fifteen of South Korea’s finest young pianists from Juilliard, Curtis and from around South Korea.

Last year Hanul successfully auditioned for the Korean National University of Art’s Gifted Musicians Academy, which has its campus located at the Seoul Arts Center in downtown Seoul. Here Hanul continues his studies with professors from the university including having masterclasses from South Korea’s most renowned pianist Kim Daejin. In June 2018 Hanul placed first overall in the prestigious Steinway & Sons Korea biennial piano competition for young pianists. Representing South Korea, Hanul went on to place second at the Steinway & Sons Asia Pacific Regional Finals competition in Taiwan.
