About Eric:
Toronto native, Eric started playing piano when he was four years old. Currently, he is a full scholarship student at The Phil and Eli Taylor Performance Academy for Young Artists at the Royal Conservatory, studying with Li Wang. In his years at the Academy Eric had an opportunity to work with a number of notable musicians, including John O’Connor, James Anagnoson, Lang Ning Liu, Robert McDonald, Emanuel Ax, Ronan O’Hora, and Haochen Zhang. Eric has performed a number of piano concertos with the orchestra, giving performances of Liszt Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Drummondville Symphony Orchestra and Beethoven “Emperor” Concerto No. 5 with the Oakville Chamber Orchestra. Eric continually broadens his musical education, studying the violin, harmony, theory and composition in addition to his intensive piano studies.
Eric’s competition successes include winning Grand Prize (11-14 yo category) in 2016 Canadian Music Competition. Following e-Piano Junior Competition, Eric will go to Menlo International Chamber Music Festival in CA, as one of six pianists among twenty-nine musicians.
