About Youl:
Sixteen-year-old Youl started studying piano at age 5, and won his first prize at the 2009 Nanpa Music Competition. In 2017 Youl received Shinhan Music Award, a prize established for nurturing a representative musician of Korea.
While studying at Yewon School between 2013 and 2015, Youl was awarded Yewon School Music Award. Currently Youl continues his studies at Seoul Arts High School with Daejin Kim and Yoojin Yoon. A sensitive interpreter of Romantic music, Youl won the First Prize at the Korea Chopin Competition and Korea Liszt Competition in 2013 and was awarded the First Prize and special Polonaise Award at the Asia-Pacific International Chopin Competition. Youl was selected to perform a Kumho Prodigy Concert Solo Recital in 2012 and 2014, and was the youngest person chosen for the Kumho Young Artist Concert Audition. Youl performed Kumho Young Artist Concert Solo Recital in 2016.
Youl has played with several orchestras, including Korean National Institute for the Gifted in Arts Orchestra and Yewon Orchestra. Youl is a recipient of Hyundai Motors Chung Mong-koo Foundation Scholarship.
